10 Office Chairs for Your Home Office

I am now working from home and it is time I purchase a comfy office chair. The cats are stoked about the quarantine but my butt is not. Although I do have a desk (learn about how to decorate your desk to be more productive here), I rarely sit at it for more than an hour or two and often I sit on my couch or at my coffee table. The chair I have is a 1960’s wood and leather chair that nicely doubles as extra dining seating when I need it but it was not made for long sitting hours. Unfortunately, my iMac can not be moved around to appease my butt so it is time I get another chair.

My coworkers and I were talking about our chair situations and it inspired me to make a list of some cute office chairs. The list ranges from most expensive ($500) to cheapest ($90). I tried to include a mix of leather, velvet, wood, metal and they all come in a range of colors. I can’t decide which I want. I live in an old building with hardwoods so I want to avoid anything with rollers to keep the noise down. Also I just imagine my cats when they get the zoomies hitting a roller chair at full speed and immediately breaking everything. This leaves me with something stationary but I can always get a chair with a swivel. Let me know which you think I should get!

Well I love this chair for the name alone and I think any designer will. Who doesn’t love Helvetica? This one looks really comfy and the warm brown tones make any space feel cozy, which is important for me to have in any room. I also like when brown and black are mixed, it can really unite the room.

Mad Black Executive Chair - On Sale $339

This channels Mad Men and I am assuming that is where they get the name. I really want to touch this chair. Doesn’t it look so smooth? With its faux leather and sleek brushed nickel, this chair is a nice mix of business and class.

Mid-Century Swivel Office Chair (4 colors) - On Sale $299.25

This one really speaks to me. It has a similar vibe to my couch, which is also from West Elm, and comes in 4 really cute colors. I like that this chair doesn’t roll but still has the swivel capabilities that most office chairs have.

Rouka Velvet Office Chair (2 colors) - $299

This chair comes in a grey with brass finishes and a black with matte black finishes. I like the sleek lines of this one. It has a very light feel which would make it great for smaller office areas.

With its open back and dainty features, this one would be great in a smaller office space. If the dusty blush feels to feminine for you, this also comes in a grey velvet with a brushed metal.
